Stewed cabbage is a very tasty and satisfying dish that can be an ideal addition to cereals, mashed potatoes, and rice. It can also be an ideal filling for pies and dumplings.
Nutritionist Svitlana Levytska shared a recipe for a delicious stewed cabbage with minced meat, bell peppers, and tomato paste on Instagram.
Ingredients:
- minced meat - 500 g
- medium cabbage - 1 pc.
- onion - 1 pc.
- bell pepper - 1 pc.
- hot pepper - optional
- tomato paste - 2 tbsp.
- salt, pepper, spices - to taste
- lemon juice - 1 tbsp.
- vegetable oil - 1-2 tbsp.
- greens and Greek yogurt for serving
Method of preparation:
1. Stew minced meat in vegetable oil until it loses its color. Add chopped onion and pepper and simmer for 5 minutes.
2. Chop cabbage and add to the minced meat. Add tomato paste, stir and simmer under the lid until tender.
3. Add spices and simmer for another 5 minutes. Sprinkle with lemon juice.
Serve with herbs and yogurt!
