Pilaf is a very satisfying and tasty oriental dish made with boiled rice, meat, spices, carrots, and garlic. A distinctive feature of pilaf is its crumbliness, but this is only if you choose the right kind of rice. To prevent rice from sticking together in pilaf, it is cooked with the addition of animal or vegetable fat, which prevents the grains from sticking together.
The cook shared a recipe for a delicious mussel pilaf made with basmati rice on Instagram.
Ingredients:
- 15-20 g of butter
- 1 onion
- 1 carrot
- 400 g. mussels
- spices for pilaf and seafood
- salt
- 1 cup of rice
- 2 cups of warm water
- 3-4 cloves of garlic
Method of preparation:
1. Fry onions and carrots in butter for 10 minutes. Add thawed mussels, fry for 2-3 minutes and add spices.
2. Add salt and rice (pre-washed, it is better to choose basmati rice). Pour warm water over the rice, add garlic and cover.
3. Cook over medium heat for 20-25 minutes. Remove the lid and mix well.
