Shuba salad without herring: what to replace the main ingredient with
Shuba is the simplest and most budget-friendly salad made from beets, herring and mayonnaise. To make the dish taste more original, add onions and redfish instead of herring.
The cook shared a recipe for a delicious Shuba with salmon, boiled beets, and mayonnaise on Instagram.
Ingredients:
- boiled potatoes - 2-3 pcs.
- boiled carrots - 2 pcs.
- onion - 1 pc.
- lightly salted smoked salmon - 400 g
- beets - 1-2 pcs.
- mayonnaise - 220 g
- eggs
For the marinade:
- vinegar - 1 tbsp. l.
- sugar - 1 tsp.
- oil - 1 tsp.
Method of preparation:
1. Before cooking, boil vegetables and eggs and then grate them.
2. Assemble the first layer: grate potatoes on a coarse grater and brush with mayonnaise. Two more layers are chopped salmon and pickled onions (chop them finely, add vinegar, sugar and oil. Mix and leave for 10 minutes). The next layer is carrots and mayonnaise. Next are beets and mayonnaise again. Sprinkle with finely chopped eggs.
3. Leave the salad in the refrigerator to soak for 3-4 hours.
