They help protect blood vessels from atherosclerosis and strengthen the immune system. The content of healthy fatty acids in herring is the same as in salmon and trout! It is best eaten marinated, made into spreads, forshmak, snacks, and salads.

Forshmack recipe

Ingredients:

  • Herring - 1 pc.
  • Onion - 1/2 pc.
  • Green apple - 1/2 pc.
  • Egg - 1 pc.
  • Soft butter - 1 tbsp. l
  • Lemon juice (if the apple is not too sour)
  • Black pepper - to taste

Method of preparation:

1. Peel and finely chop the herring.
