Lean cabbage rolls with mushrooms, tomato juice and onions: cooked in the oven
Stuffed cabbage is a very tasty and satisfying dish. In the classic version, rice with minced meat is used for the filling. However, if you don't eat meat or want to make lean cabbage rolls, you can replace the meat with mushrooms and onions.
The cook shared a recipe for lean cabbage rolls with rice, fried mushrooms and onions on Instagram.
Ingredients:
- 1 kg cabbage + 1 tsp salt
- 400 g of mushrooms
- 200 g of onions
- 400 g of rice (polished, long-grain) + the same amount of water
- oil for frying
- 150 g of tomato paste
- 1 tsp of salt
- 1/2 tsp of pepper
- add 1 tsp salt, 1 tbsp sugar, 1/2 tsp pepper to the water with tomato paste
Method of preparation:
1. Put cabbage in boiling water and leave until it is soft.
2. Chop or beat mushrooms and onions and fry until golden brown.
3. Boil rice in a 1:1 ratio with water for 15-20 minutes and add to the mushrooms.
4. Stuff the cabbage with a filling and make rolls. Put them in a baking dish, pour the tomato sauce over, cover with foil and simmer for 20 minutes at 190 C.
