Stuffed cabbage is a very satisfying and tasty dish based on cabbage, rice, minced meat, roast and tomato sauce. You can also make them with Chinese cabbage, and replace the meat with Korean-style mushrooms or carrots.
FoodOboz editorial team shares a recipe for delicious lazy cabbage rolls with sauerkraut, mushrooms, and parsley.
Ingredients:
- sauerkraut - 1 head
- rice - 1 cup
- onions - 2 pcs. medium
- carrots - 1 pc.
- mushrooms - 250 g
- vegetable oil
- dill and parsley
- red, mild pepper flakes - 1/3 tsp.
- salt, ground black pepper - to taste
Method of preparation:
1. Rinse rice. Fry chopped onions, carrots and mushrooms, season with salt and pepper, and add to the rice. Then add spices and herbs and mix everything.
2. Prepare cabbage. Cut off the hard part. If the cabbage leaves are too sour, rinse with water.
3. Roll up cabbage leaves and place them tightly in a saucepan. Cover the bottom with leaves too. Pour water so that it covers the cabbage rolls, and cover them with the remaining leaves.
4. Put the saucepan on the stove. When the water boils, reduce the heat to low and cook the cabbage rolls until tender.
