How to prepare delicious home baked vatrushky in a new way

Homemade vatrushky are a very tasty home-baked pastry, the basis of which is cottage cheese dough. You can use cottage cheese with raisins, berries or hard cheese with herbs for stuffing. You can use minced meat for a more hearty option.

Ingredients:
Dough:
- cottage cheese - 500 g
- butter at room temperature - 200 g
- eggs - 2 pcs.
- sugar - 150 g
- flour - 600 g
- salt - a pinch
- baking soda - 0.5 tsp.
- leavening agent - 1 tsp.
- vanilla sugar - 15 g
Filling:
- sour cream - 400 g
- sugar - 60 g
- eggs - 2 pcs. + 2 pcs. to grease the sides of the wattles
- starch - 2 tsp.
- salt - a pinch
- vanilla sugar - 15 g
Method of preparation:
1. Put cottage cheese, butter, eggs, sugar, salt and vanilla sugar in a deep mixer bowl. Mix everything well. Sift the flour together with baking soda and baking powder, add to the cottage cheese mixture and knead the dough quickly.
2. Divide the prepared dough into 22-24 balls. Place the balls on a parchment-lined baking tray. Use a glass to make a depression in the balls.
3. Mix the egg yolk with 0.5 tsp. water, stir and brush the sides of the buns with this mixture. Sprinkle with almond petals.
4. Mix all the ingredients in a bowl for the stuffing and spoon it into the bowl.
5. Bake in a well-heated oven at 180 C until the buns are brown. Let them cool and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
