How to make pesto sauce for winter properly
A healthy, tasty and very simple homemade sauce that goes well with all dishes is pesto sauce. Its base is fragrant basil, while its piquant flavor is achieved with garlic, lemon juice and zest.
- basil - 300 g
- garlic - 4-5 cloves
- nuts - 150-200 g
- juice and zest of 1 lemon
- sugar - 1 tbsp.
- salt, pepper - to taste
- parmesan - 50 g
- olive oil - 100 ml
Method of preparation:
1. Mix all ingredients with a blender or grind through a meat grinder. Adjust the thickness with some oil. Add grated parmesan and mix.
2- Sterilize the jars and lids and pour the sauce into the jars. Put in the freezer and store for up to a year.
Tip: You can use the sauce for salads, baked goods, bruschettas, vegetable casseroles and pasta. Take out of the freezer and let stand 10 minutes to thaw at room temperature before using!
