How to make mashed potatoes in a new way: add just one unusual ingredient

The simplest potato dish is mashed potatoes. After all, there is nothing easier than peeling potatoes, dicing them and boiling them in salted water for about 15 minutes. Everyone cooks it differently: with milk, sour cream, butter, yogurt, kefir.

Culinary expert Yevhen Klopotenko shared on his website a recipe for an unusual mashed potatoes with olives, which will add an original flavor to the usual dish.

Ingredients:

  • potatoes - 8 pcs.
  • olives - 10-16 pcs.
  • butter - 50 g
  • allspice - 2 peas
  • bay leaf - 1 pc.
  • onion - 1 pc.
  • salt - to taste

Method of preparation:

1. Wash and peel the potatoes, cut them into cubes, put them in a saucepan and cover with water.

2. Add 2 peas of allspice, 1 bay leaf and a small onion cut in half, which will give the potatoes a wonderful flavor.

3. Be sure to add a pinch of salt to the water and cook over medium heat for about 20-25 minutes.

4. When the potatoes are done, remove the spices and onion, they are no longer needed.

5. Drain the potatoes into another bowl.

6. Take a whisk and mash the potatoes, add the butter and mix well again.

7. Chop the olives, add them to the mashed potatoes, mix and serve.
