But it is worth noting that there are many recipes for this dish, and they all differ from each other. If you want to get a sharper taste, for example, you can safely add garlic, but nuts will add tenderness to the dish.

How to make hummus at home

Nutritionist Yana Leheza shared a recipe for a delicious and healthy chickpea hummus with carrots, sun-dried tomatoes, and pine nuts on Instagram.

Hummus recipe

Ingredients:

  • chickpeas – 100 g
  • sesame seeds – 50 g
Chickpeas for hummus
  • olive oil – 2-3 tbsp
  • sun-dried tomatoes – 6-7 pcs.
Fresh carrots
  • carrots – 1 pc.
  • garlic – 1 clove
  • lemon juice – 1 tbsp. 
Lemon juice
  • pine nuts – a handful
  • salt, pepper, cumin – to taste

Method of preparation:

1. Soak the chickpeas overnight.

2. Boil the carrots.

3. Fry the sesame seeds in a frying pan, pour into a blender, pour in olive oil, and whisk.

4. Add the carrots, chickpeas, spices, part of the tomatoes, oil and whisk again until smooth.
