Greek-style baked potatoes with garlic and cheese: recipe for a hearty lunch dish

Potatoes are a vegetable that can be used to make many tasty and satisfying dishes, including zrazy, casseroles, pies, mashed potatoes, and cutlets. Potatoes can also be deliciously baked and fried with mushrooms.

Cook Valentyna Saienko shared a recipe for Greek-style baked potatoes with garlic and feta cheese on Instagram.

Recipe for potatoes

Ingredients:

  • potatoes - 500 g
  • olive oil - 3 tbsp.
  • red onion - 1/2 pc.
  • oregano - 1 tsp.
  • garlic - 3 cloves.
  • zest of 1 lemon
  • feta cheese - 120 g
  • parsley - a bunch
  • salt, pepper - to taste

Method of preparation:

1. Wash potatoes well, cut them into 6 pieces, and soak them in cold water for at least 30 minutes.

2. Then drain the water, cover again with cold water and cook the potatoes in salted water for 10 minutes. The potatoes should still be raw. Drain again and leave the potatoes in a colander.

3. Mix oil, salt, pepper, chopped garlic, and oregano and pour over the potatoes. Place on a baking sheet and bake at 180 C  for 30-40 minutes.

4. Cut onion into half rings and put on top of the potatoes 10 minutes before cooking.
