Bread is a highly sought-after product in Ukraine, with almost every second Ukrainian eating bread and bakery products. Very often, bread is cooked at home and served with first courses. But if you want something new instead of bread, baguettes, savory buns, pizza, and stuffed muffins are a great option.
Cook Anastasia (anny.cooking) shared on Instagram a recipe for delicious homemade muffins with ham, cheese, and sweet peppers, which will be a great alternative to bread.
Ingredients:
- eggs - 2 pcs.
- flour - 250 g
- oil - 5 tbsp
- kefir - 200 ml
- sugar - 1 tsp
- soda - 3 g
- baking powder - 5 g
- salt - 1/3 tsp.
- tomato paste - 1 tbsp.
- Italian herbs, oregano, paprika, granulated garlic - to taste
The filling:
- hard cheese - 100 g
- bell pepper - 1/2 pc.
- ham or sausage - 100 g
Method of preparation:
1. Dough: beat the eggs with salt, sugar, spices, kefir, tomato paste, and oil. Then add the sifted flour with baking soda and baking powder, mix well.
2. Filling: dice the pepper and ham, grate the cheese, add to the dough and mix.
3. Put one spoonful of dough into the molds, sprinkle with cheese and bake for 25 minutes at 185 C.
Let the finished muffins cool and serve.
