The chefs explained what mistakes are made by those who start cooking pasta without prior preparation, relying only on their own feelings or recommendations on the package.

How to cook pasta

In particular, the masters advised not to save on water and choose large pots for cooking the product. It should be remembered that cooking water should be salted.

Experts also emphasized that after adding the pasta to boiling water, it should be constantly stirred to prevent it from sticking together. Ready-made pasta should not be rinsed, as many people do, because "it can wash away all the flavor."

Italian chef Roberta d'Elia drew attention to the importance of pasta cooking time. To achieve perfect pasta, she recommended cooking pasta for six to seven minutes. However, if the pasta still tastes hard, she suggested that it could be kept in boiling water for a little longer, but not more than 30 seconds.

Speaking about mistakes in cooking pasta, experts criticized the habit of many people to add sunflower or olive oil to the water in which pasta is cooked to prevent it from sticking together. Professionals warned that with such cooking, a film will remain on the pasta, which will "block" the taste of the pasta and prevent you from enjoying the dish.
