Can you throw dumplings into the cold water when cooking: what can spoil the dish
Homemade dumplings are a delicious dish based on dough and a delicious filling made from any product. To make the dumplings fluffy, you need to make a good dough, but it is very important to cook them properly so that they do not stick together and are not overcooked.
The FoodOboz editorial team shares with you useful tips from culinary experts on how to cook dumplings correctly so that they retain their beautiful shape and are well-cooked.
Useful tips:
1. It is always better to cook dumplings in a low, wide pot because the water will boil faster in it than in a deep and tall pot.
2. There should be plenty of water in the pan – about 2/3 of the pan.
3. Dumplings do not need to be thrown all at once into boiling water, because they will simply stick together. The right thing to do is to add them one by one to the boiling water so that each of them has enough space after floating in a single layer.
4. Salt must be added to the water, even if you are cooking dumplings with a sweet filling, because it is salt that will give the dumplings their flavor and, most importantly, it prevents the products from sticking together.
5. Cooks also advise adding a little oil to the water during cooking, which will also prevent the dumplings from sticking together.
6. Dumplings should not be thrown into cold water, only into boiling water!
7. When cooking, be sure to stir the dumplings so that they do not turn into a single ball.
