The remix of the song "Shchedryk" became a hit

A remix of the song "Shchedryk" by Ukrainian composer Mykola Leontovych, which was written in the early 20th century, has gone viral online. Thanks to the modernization of the iconic work by DJ Charles B, Europeans are popularizing Ukrainian music.

Some of them thought that "Shchedryk" was an English-language adaptation of Carol of the Bells from the movie Home Alone, but most TikTok users noted that the legendary song is an achievement of Ukrainian culture.

The trend was started by the aforementioned DJ, who played the remix at a techno festival. The crowd greeted the Ukrainian music with enthusiasm, and the sound was picked up online.

As of November 24, almost 2000 people had made a video for it. Many of them are foreigners who like to party to the Christmas techno tune.

"I love this Ukrainian banger. I wish I could sing along with the lyrics. I'm trying my best to synchronize my lips," wrote one of the Germans.
