Usyk will be a distraction: how the Ukrainian will interfere with the Joshua-Dubois fight

Warren told about Usyk

The presence of Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs) will distract Anthony Joshua (26-3, 23 KOs) in his fight against Daniel Dubois (21-2, 20 KOs) on September 21 in London. Our compatriot will remind the native of Watford that he was beaten twice.

This opinion was expressed in an interview with Sky Sports by promoter Frank Warren, who handles Dubois' affairs. The representative of the Briton, who also lost to Usyk, admired our compatriot and wished his client to win the right to rematch with the Ukrainian for all the belts.

"Usyk will be in the ring, as will Tyson Fury, but I don't think it means anything to Dubois. It might distract Joshua because Usyk has beaten him twice. Usyk is the real deal, he's the guy who's at the top of the tree, and these two are trying to get a fight with the winner of the Usyk-Fury rematch," Warren said.

It is worth noting that the International Boxing Federation (IBF) belt, which Usyk had previously given up, will be at stake in the Joshua-Dubois fight.

If he wins, Joshua will become a three-time world champion and will wait for the winner of the Usyk-Fury rematch. Du Bois can make one of the most high-profile upsets of the year and effectively put an end to his opponent's career.

On the eve of his visit to London, an incident occurred in Krakow, Poland, when the athlete was detained and handcuffed. Usyk was soon released and commented on the situation.

Polish authorities accused Oleksandr and his friend of inappropriate behavior. In his turn, Usyk's promoter Oleksandr Krasiuk published all the details of Usyk's arrest, refuting the version of the Krakow border guards.
