"They are afraid of Russia": Volochkova makes nonsense about why Russia was not allowed to participate in the Olympics

Volochkova speaks out about the Olympics

Famous Russian ballerina Anastasia Volochkova has come up with a spectacularly absurd idea that the world is afraid of Russia and that is why its athletes were not allowed to participate in the 2024 Olympics. In her patriotic frenzy, the artist called the sanctions against Russian athletes incomprehensible.

Volochkova said this in a commentary to the propaganda publication Sport-Express. She repeated the traditional Kremlin narratives about the impossibility of politicizing sports and also complained about the allegedly unfair exclusion of her compatriots from international tournaments.

"This is such an injustice. Russia is a force in everything. As a patriot, at the end of my show "Obsession" I come out with a tricolor, I am proud of the country. Athletes, like artists, pose a threat. They are afraid of Russia, the Russian flag, professionalism, sports and art. Politics is one thing, but it's another when all this injustice is transferred to sports and art. It's incomprehensible," Volochkova said.

It should be noted that 15 athletes from the Russian Federation competed at the Olympic Games in Paris in the so-called neutral status. They won one medal - a silver in tennis.

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, Russian speed skater Olesya Romasenko, who competed at the 2024 Olympics, admitted that she had no contact with Ukrainians.
