"We are talking about a conspiracy!" Zakharova hysterically calls IOC's cooperation with Ukraine a crime

Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova has made absurd accusations against the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and its head Thomas Bach. The representative of the Russian terrorist state made a nonsense about a "conspiracy with the Kyiv regime" that the IOC allegedly organized against athletes from the aggressor country.

Zakharova said this at a briefing, according to the propaganda channel Match TV. The accomplice of Vladimir Putin's dictatorial regime called the conviction and suspension of Russian athletes for their support of the destruction of Ukraine and its civilians a crime.

"The height of dishonesty was the revelation by IOC President Thomas Bach that representatives of the committee had asked Ukrainians to monitor the statements of Russian athletes on the Internet and in the media. This is a criminal statement. It is about collusion with the Kyiv regime, which encourages racial and national intolerance. We are talking about aggressive nationalism, a course to destroy everything Russian, including with the hands and using the IOC institutions," Zakharova said.

Earlier, two-time Olympic champion Dmitry Vasiliev again called on the Russian authorities to stage a coup in the IOC leadership to seize control of the organization. And the IOC president announced serious penalties, up to and including disqualification, if Russian athletes violate the conditions of admission to the 2024 Winter Olympics in the so-called neutral status.

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, legendary hockey goalkeeper Dominik Hasek criticized the IOC for allowing Russian athletes to participate in the 2024 Olympics.
