Olympic champion Vyacheslav Fetisov has demanded that Ukraine not interfere in world sports with calls to ban Russians from entering countries where international tournaments are held. The former hockey player said that politicians should stay away from the Olympic movement, forgetting about the grandiose state-sponsored doping system that the Russian Federation organized at the 2014 Olympic Games in Sochi.

Fetisov, who is a member of the State Duma, said this in a commentary to AllProSport. The two-time Stanley Cup winner called the initiatives of Ukraine absurd. He added that Verkhovna Rada's proposals have no place in world sport.

"They probably don't quite understand. In general, it is forbidden for the state to interfere in the Olympic movement and in international federations. If they don't understand what they are proposing, then anything can be proposed now. One of the main conditions of world sport is the non-interference of the state in the work of public organizations. It will be interesting to see the reaction," Fetisov said.

Synchronized swimming coach Tatyana Pokrovskaya said that Ukrainians are zombified and they ruin the lives of Russians. Four-time Olympic biathlon champion Alexander Tikhonov called Ukrainians brainless after they refused to shake hands with Russians at international tournaments.
