Ukraine qualifies for the Paris Olympics

The head coach of the Ukrainian youth national team Ruslan Rotan will continue to work with the team after the 2023 European Football Championship and take it to the Olympic Games in Paris. At the same time, players born after 1 January 2001, and not 2000, as is currently the case at the continental championship, will be able to play in the French capital.

This is reported by the official website of the Ukrainian Football Association. It is noted that after Euro 2023, Rotan's team will become Olympic and will prepare for the 2024 tournament. Participants in the Olympic Games will be able to nominate three players who are over the age limit.

At the same time, the cycle of the next European Championship will begin in September 2023 with a new youth national team (players born in 2002 and younger) under the leadership of a new coaching staff. The Blue and Yellows' rivals in the qualifiers are England, Serbia, Northern Ireland, Azerbaijan and Luxembourg.

Rotan will simultaneously coach Oleksandriya. Last season, the Dnipro legend failed to lead his team to the European Cups, finishing sixth in the Premier League.

As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, in the quarterfinals of Euro 2023, the Ukrainian national team defeated France in a spectacular fashion and secured a historic qualification for the Olympics. And Russian propagandists disgraced themselves with "anti-Ukrainian protests" at the U-21 continental championship.
