Russian Olympic champion called the demand to condemn the war in Ukraine a quiet horror "that someone came up with"

Oleksandr ChekanovSport
Sautin criticized World Aquatics

Two-time Olympic champion Dmitry Sautin is furious about the conditions of admission of Russian representatives to international competitions. The former diver pretended that he did not understand why the Russians were suspended in team competitions, while severe restrictions were imposed on participation in individual tournaments.

Sautin said this in a comment to the Russia Today propaganda television channel. The five-time world champion added that he did not understand how "someone came up with" demands that Russians sign an anti-war declaration and condemn their country's aggression against Ukraine.

"Nothing has changed. The same biased attitude and sentiments against our country. I believe that the reaction of our athletes will be united and no one will consider it. Now the reaction of our leadership is expected. I do not understand how such a declaration even occurred. It is a quiet horror. I am sure that our leaders will be against this paper," Sautin said.

Tatyana Pokrovskaya, head coach of the Russian national synchronized swimming team, called the decision of the International Swimming Federation (World Aquatics) to approve the criteria for Russian athletes to receive neutral status an act of lawlessness.

As reported by OBOZREVATEL, the President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Thomas Bach criticized Ukraine and announced the conditions for Russia's admission to the 2024 Olympic games.
