Russia's propaganda media is spreading news stating that posters with a photo of Yelena Isinbayeva are hanging on the streets of Paris. The famous Russian athlete and major in the Russian Armed Forces is allegedly advertising the 2024 Olympics. Isinbayeva is photographed from the back, while being mirrored in a photo editor, making the Russian flag look as similar to the flag of France as possible.

Vasily Konov, deputy general producer of Match TV, was the first to post this news on his Telegram channel.

"Nothing strange, just an advertisement for the Olympic Games in the Saint-Denis district in Paris with Yelena Isinbayeva and the Russian flag," Konov captioned the photo.

After that, the message spread across Russian propaganda outlets and specialized sports websites.

"This is the photo that adorns the streets of Paris on the eve of the Olympics. Everything would be fine, but it depicts Yelena Isinbayeva with the Russian flag after winning the 2008 Olympics. Macron, what's wrong with your face?" the Russian media ironically said.

It turned out that the poster, which became the subject of euphoria among Russians, appeared at the construction site of one of the Olympic venues in the Paris suburb of Saint-Denis back in 2022.

The French advertising agency that developed the campaign didn't bother to look too deeply into the matter, using the first image that came across on the Internet for the banner.

Some Russian fans drew attention to this fact, mocking Konov.

"It turns out Konov found a 2022 news, good for him," users mock.

The network also drew attention to the fact that the poster was vandalized. Unknown persons corrected the phrase "Story Accelerators" to "Robbery Accelerators," which is a reference to the amount of money embezzled by French officials in organizing the sports festival.

It should be noted that the posters were located on the territory of the Aire des vents park in the municipality of Dugny, which will be the Media Village during the 2024 Games and will then become a new eco-district with numerous residential buildings and public facilities. The finalization work is due to be completed in 2025-2027.
