Mykhailyuk praised the new coach of the Ukrainian national team and spoke about his participation in the Olympic qualification

Sviatoslav Mykhailyuk, guard for the Charlotte Hornets, spoke highly of the appointment of Vitalii Stepanovskii as the head coach of the Ukrainian national basketball team. The pupil of Cherkaskie Mavps school expressed his confidence in the specialist's ability to make the national team play well.

Mikhailuk said this in an interview with Youtube channel Double Dribble. "I crossed paths with Vitaliy Stepanovskiy in the national team before - two years ago, when I came to the training camp in Kyiv. He is a very good coach, I knew him when he was still at Khimik, watched their games. Everyone has only positive opinions about him. I think it was a good move for the national team to appoint him as the head coach. I think he is the best specialist in Ukraine at the moment for this role. He will be able to prepare the national team at a high level, as all his teams play. Everyone will work and try to bring good results to the team", - said Sviatoslav.

He added that he will be ready to join the Blue and Yellow in August when they play the Olympic prequalifier. "I think we have a good chance of showing a high level of basketball with the roster we have now, with the young players that fit the national team. We will have an interesting national team in the coming years, but we had a good one last year as well. If everything goes according to plan, there is a chance that I will come to the national team in August. But for now, I don't know what could happen. Knowing how the NBA works, anything can happen," the basketball player said.
