"I just want to watch the Olympics": Russian Olympic champion threw a tantrum and lashed out at the IOC president

Two-time Stanley Cup winner Vyacheslav Fetisov has sharply criticized the International Olympic Committee (IOC) for allowing Russian athletes to compete. The former hockey player demands that the organization's president, Thomas Bach, immediately lift any sanctions against representatives of the aggressor country.

Fetisov said this in an interview with the TASS propaganda news agency. The two-time Olympic champion called Russian athletes' agreement to compete without national flags and the anthem a mistake and also advocated holding the so-called Friendship Games, which were not approved by the IOC.

"Who is he? What does he have to do with what is happening in our lives? He tramples on all rights, including mine, for wanting to watch the Olympic Games, where I grew up as an athlete, and for my country to participate with the flag and anthem. I wouldn't look back at all. I think we are also to blame as when this charade with the flag and anthem began, we should have warned that our athletes would not perform without the flag and anthem. Sport has overcome these differences, I have a lot of friends from all over the world, and hockey gave me everything. They have a different responsibility as they have burned bridges, and it is not known what other bridges they are going to build," Fetisov said.

Earlier, the president of the Russian Ski Racing Federation (FSRF), Yelena Vyalbe, expressed the absurd idea that Russian athletes would be begged to return to international tournaments.

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, Russian fans demanded that three-time Olympic champion Irina Rodnina be expelled from the country after she compared the Russian Figure Skating Grand Prix to the "first of the ZHEK".
