Ukraine's Foreign Ministry demarches Hungary over video with map of Ukraine without Crimea: all the details of the scandal

On May 30, the Hungarian government's YouTube channel posted a video with an incorrect map of Ukraine. After that, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine announced a demarche to Hungary.

This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It is stated that fuelling Russia's aggressive policy does not contribute to a faster restoration of peace in Europe.

"The designation of the Crimean peninsula as a territory that is not part of Ukraine contradicts the repeatedly stated position of the official Budapest to support the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognised borders," the ministry said.

The Foreign Ministry also added that Hungary must stop provocations and comply with its international obligations as part of its membership in the UN, EU and NATO.

"Fuelling Russia's aggressive policy does not contribute to a faster restoration of peace in Europe, which the Hungarian government advocates in public," the statement said.

In addition, it is noted that on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Ukraine's Charge d'Affaires in Hungary held an official demarche to the Hungarian side.
