Early on September 4, explosions occurred in Lviv during an air raid alert as Russian terrorists attacked the city with Kinzhal missiles. Three people were killed and at least 35 were injured, including 5 children.

The head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration Maksym Kozytskyi and the mayor of the city Andriy Sadovyi reported the consequences of the shelling on Telegram. Lviv residents were urged to take cover.

"Kinzhal missiles are over Lviv. Air defense is working. Do not shoot on camera! Stay in shelters," Sadovyi wrote.

Kozytskyi informed that residential buildings in Lviv were damaged as a result of enemy shelling. All relevant services hurried to the scene.

Sadovyi noted that there were fires in residential buildings near the main station.

"Two schools will not start classes today: students of Arnika and 17 to remain at home. There are many broken windows in the area of Konovalets, Mikhnovski brothers and Melnyk streets," said the mayor.

Local media published horrific footage from the attack site. They show large-scale damage to the high-rise building, a massive fire, and the sky red.

"We already know about 6 victims of the attack on Lviv. Among them is a 10-year-old boy. Doctors are providing the necessary assistance," Sadovyi later wrote.

Local media report that a new residential complex in the city is on fire, having been commissioned only in March 2023. The house is already inhabited.

Later, Sadovyi said that the number of victims of the enemy shelling had increased to 17.

"Two children aged 10 and 15, and 15 adults were taken to the city's hospitals. Five patients are in serious condition," the mayor said.

Several streets in the city have been closed to traffic for some time. In particular, traffic is restricted on Sknylivskyi Bridge and Konovalets Street. Tram #2 will run to the station for the time being. Buses 52, 92, 21, 84 are running on a rerouted route along Zbyralna Street.

As of 07:23, Kozytskyi said that 19 people were injured as a result of the enemy attack.

"Unfortunately, one person died. My deepest condolences to the family," wrote the RMA head. He later clarified that the death toll had risen to two.

"One 15-year-old child is in moderate condition, four have light injuries," the official said about the children's condition.

"Unfortunately, we have a third dead person as a result of the night attack in Lviv. Preliminary, it is a 14-year-old girl. The number of injured has increased to 25," said Kozytskyi as of 08:00.

As a reminder, on the night of September 4, Russia launched a combined attack on Ukraine. In the evening, Shahed drones entered our territory, and at 02:00, terrorists took off at least five Tu-95MS strategic bombers. In the morning, two MiG-31Ks carrying Kinzhal missiles took off from the Savasleyka air base in the Nizhny Novgorod region of the Russian Federation.

At dawn, explosions were heard not only in Lviv but also in the Kyiv region, Rivne, Lutsk district and Kryvyi Rih.

On September 3, the occupiers hit Poltava with two ballistic missiles. The Institute of Communications was hit. The attack killed at least 51 people and injured 271 others.

On September 3, Russian war criminals also hit a university in Sumy. Previously, the occupiers had dropped a guided bomb on the city.
