"Paper title. Usyk, period": former world champion ridiculed the fight between Joshua and Dubois

Dubois and Joshua will fight for the IBF belt

Former world middleweight champion Carl Froch ridiculed the fight between British boxers Anthony Joshua (26-3, 23 KOs) and Daniel DuBois (21-2, 20 KOs). In particular, he noted that the winner of the fight has no right to be considered a full-fledged holder of the International Boxing Federation (IBF) belt, which Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs) was forced to give up.

Froch said this in an interview with the iFL TV YouTube channel. The 47-year-old Briton noted that his compatriots did not deserve the right to fight for the title, and a Ukrainian boxer should be considered a full-fledged IBF heavyweight champion.

"Why did the IBF want to take the title away from Usyk? It's all about politics. Eddie Hearn is promoting his interests and has achieved the result that this title has become vacant. Now Joshua and Dubois can fight for the world championship belt. But it's just a paper title, it's not real. Whoever wins the fight between Joshua and Dubois can't call himself the champion. You have the IBF title, but the real champion is Usyk. And that's it. Period," Froch said.

It should be noted that Joshua and Dubois will fight on September 21 in London at the legendary Wembley Stadium. At the same time, Saudi Arabia has already announced its intention to organize Anthony's fight with Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs). The Gypsy King, in turn, is looking forward to a rematch with Usyk on December 21.

The fantastic prize money for the second fight is already known. At the same time, the Ukrainian himself emphasized that he was interested in holding a third fight against Anthony.

Our compatriot shared his expectations from the second fight with Tyson and responded to the accusations of cheating during the fight with Fury on May 18. In addition, Oleksandr commented on the injury he received in the fight.
