Joshua's prediction for the Usyk-Fury fight

Maksym InshakovNews
The British heavyweight answered questions during a press conference

British heavyweight Anthony Joshua (27-3, 24 KOs) believes that in a fight between WBA, WBO and IBF titles holder Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs) and WBC champion Tyson Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs), he would favor the Ukrainian. At the same time, Joshua clarified that the balance of power could change closer to the fight.

"The fight between Fury and Usyk? I'll be honest: I'm leaning towards Oleksandr's victory. But who knows?" said Anthony at a press conference after his victory over Otto Wallin.

It will be recalled that the superfight for the absolute heavyweight championship will take place on February 17, 2024, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Earlier, the fight was scheduled for December 23, but Tyson Fury was cut during his fight with Francis Ngannou and the fight was postponed. Before that, Oleksandr Usyk fought Daniel Dubois, where he won by knockout.

This is the first fight for the title of absolute world champion in the era of four belts. The last absolute champion in heavyweight was Lennox Lewis: in 1999, he held the WBA, WBC and IBF belts, which was enough for such a title.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, Joshua defeated Swede Otto Wallin (26-2 14 KO) at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh. The 12-round fight at the Kingdom Arena ended after the 5th three minutes with a technical knockout.

There, American Deontay Wilder (43-3-1, 42 KOs) sensationally lost to Joseph Parker (34-3, 23 KOs) from New Zealand.

It should be noted that at the same show a few hours earlier, the famous British boxer Daniel Dubois (20-2, 19 KOs) defeated unbeaten heavyweight Jarrell Miller (26-1-1, 22 KOs), knocking him out 10 seconds before the end of the last round.

Prior to that, unbeaten Russian Arslanbek Makhmudov (18-1, 17 KOs), who is hiding from sanctions under the Canadian flag, lost the WBA intercontinental title by knockout to undefeated 31-year-old German Agit Kabayel (24-0, 16 KOs).

In the first fight of the show, Croatian heavyweight Filip Hrgovic (17-0, 14 KOs) beat Australian Mark De Mori (41-3-2, 36 KOs) after only a few punches.

Later at the Kingdom Arena, Australian heavyweight boxer Jai Opetaia (24-0, 19 KOs) scored a spectacular victory over Ellis Zorro (17-1, 7 KOs) from the United Kingdom.
