Better than Philadelphia: how to make cream cheese at home
Cream cheese is a versatile addition to rolls, pancakes and a variety of snacks. In addition, it can be easily prepared at home. Such spread is traditionally based on kefir, sour cream, yogurt or cream, supplemented with herbs or savory spices.
- sour cream - 370 g
- natural thick yogurt - 300 gr
- salt - 0,5 tsp.
- lemon juice - 1 tsp.
Method of preparation:
1. Pour the sour cream, add the yogurt, salt and lemon juice into a bowl. Mix thoroughly.
2. Take a saucepan, set a sieve on top and cover it with gauze (it should be folded in 3-4 layers beforehand). Pour the sour cream mass into the prepared container.
3. Cover again with gauze and leave in such a form in a fridge for 12 hours. Done!
On a side note: this amount of ingredients makes 420 grams of cream cheese.
