2016 Eurovision winner Jamala names three Ukrainian singers she would like to see at the contest
Jamala, the 2016 winner of the Eurovision Song Contest, has revealed which Ukrainian artists she would like to see at the National Selection 2025. The singer singled out three performers who, in her opinion, will best represent Ukraine on the international stage in the Swiss city of Basel.
In a conversation with ICTV journalist, Jamala named the artists who have already participated in the national selection. "I would like to see Yulia Sanina, KOLA, and Tayanna at the Eurovision Song Contest. It seems to me that... You know, these are not my words, but when we don't know what to sing, just send women who can sing," the star joked.
It is worth noting that Yulia Sanina had every chance to appear at the Eurovision Song Contest instead of Jamala. The lead singer of The Hardkiss took part in the 2016 National Selection with the track "Helpless". According to the judges' scores, the band took 1st place, but according to the audience's vote, they were second, and as a result, Jamala, the author of "1944", won.
In addition, Jamala commented on the producer change (instead of Dmytro Shurov (Pianoboy), Tina Karol took over this role). "I know for sure that she is working hard to make the show look very good. She has a great experience in competitions, in solo performance. So I think everything will be great," the celebrity shared.
