Hugh Hefner's widow talks about the robbery of the Playboy mansion

Crystal Harris, the widow of the founder of the men's magazine Playboy Hugh Hefner, has revealed for the first time that her late husband's mansion was robbed. According to the 38-year-old model, she hid the unpleasant news from the famous publisher until the end of his life, because important things were stolen by people he trusted greatly.

The woman told about this in her memoirs "Speak only good things," Viva writes. She noted that the businessman always sincerely believed in others, so sometimes he even signed documents without reading their content.

According to Crystal Harris, her late husband was given a lot of expensive and unique things. For example, a doctor gave the Playboy founder a lock of Michael Jackson's hair.

"Whenever Geoff received a gift, he would ask the staff to put it in the 'gift hiding place'. When I went to check on the millions of dollars worth of gifts that were supposed to be stored in the estate, I couldn't find them. His vault was empty, except for a few trinkets of no particular value: a child's music box, a few cheap snow globes, and some unremarkable movie memorabilia. I didn't have the courage to tell him that his gifts were gone, that the people he trusted so much had betrayed him," the model said.

Crystal Harris added that at a certain point she realized that her husband would not be able to get up to the room, so she finally decided not to tell anyone about the theft. She put a special lock on the door to the room, and when the publisher received a valuable gift, she immediately entered it into a special database. In this way, the model showed the employees that the businessman's lawyer had a copy of the document with everything in the hiding place.

"He trusted his employees too much. He would sign piles of documents without even looking at what they were giving him to sign. I tried to reason with him. I told him that it would be good for him to know what he was signing. But he answered indifferently: "We need to trust the people who work for us," the woman said.
