Strategic goal: Zelensky predicts when Ukraine can finally become an EU member

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky congratulated the newly elected European Commission headed by Ursula von der Leyen and expressed hope for further strengthening of cooperation between Ukraine and the European Union. He emphasized the importance of this cooperation for Ukraine, which seeks to become a full member of the EU.

He wrote about this on social network X on Wednesday, November 27. Zelensky expressed hope for Ukraine's future membership in the European Union, noting that this is a strategic goal of the country.

"I sincerely congratulate Ursula von der Leyen on the approval of the new composition of the College of Commissioners. I wish the new European Commission success in strengthening a united Europe and enhancing the role of the EU as a world leader. We are looking forward to continuing our productive cooperation on key issues of the EU-Ukraine strategic agenda," he noted.

The President emphasized that the EU membership was a strategic goal for Ukraine that the country intended to achieve. He is confident that under the leadership of the new European Commission, Ukraine will be able to approach this goal and become a full member of the EU.

"We are confident that under the leadership of this European Commission, Ukraine will achieve its ultimate strategic goal - EU membership," the head of state summarized.

It should be noted that on Wednesday, November 27, the European Parliament voted for the new composition of the European Commission, proposed by the current and elected President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen and approved in September by the EU Council. 370 deputies were in favor, 282 were against, and 36 abstained.
