Zelensky about Bakhmut: now it exists only in our hearts!

The President of Ukraine at the G7 Summit spoke about the situation in Bakhmut

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is in Japan for the G7 summit. At the G7 summit, Zelensky said that the city of Bakhmut, Donetsk Region, is not currently under the control of Ukrainian forces.

A statement to this effect by the Ukrainian president reported to Reuters. This is the answer our leader gave to the question of whether the fortress city is still under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"I think no. It's only in our hearts at the moment," Zelensky replied.

Thus, because of the long-term fierce fighting, the town of Bakhmut is almost completely destroyed by the occupiers.

"This is a tragedy. There is nothing in this place," the president said.

At the same time, Ukrainian presidential spokesman Sergiy Nikiforov does not believe that Zelensky confirmed the complete capture of the city by the occupiers. According to him, in response to the journalist's questions about whether the Russians took Bakhmut, Zelensky replied, "I think no."

"Thus the president denied the capture of Bakhmut," Nikiforov stressed.

As OBOZREVATEL wrote, the "capture" of Bakhmut neighborhoods does not give the Russian army a strategic advantage.

Earlier it was reported that Biden at a meeting with Zelensky announced a new package of military assistance to Ukraine. Thus, during the talks, the US President announced a new aid package to Ukraine totaling $375 million.
