Western analysts are mistaken in assessing the Ukrainian Armed Forces' counter-offensive: Zaluzhnyi's chief adviser points to a key reason

Zaluzhnyi's adviser pointed out the key reason for Western experts' erroneous assessment of the Ukrainian counter-offensive

European and American analysts are wrong in their assessment of the Ukrainian counter-offensive. They have no practical experience of their own and rely on their measuring tools based on the experience of past wars.

Western experts do not realise the need to change their approach and the fact that in the realities of any war there are no unchanging principles of military art. This opinion was expressed by Major General Viktor Nazarov, Chief Consultant to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in an interview with the Military Courier.

According to him, the forms and methods of warfare are changing due to the emergence of new technologies, weapons and military equipment.

"In fact, the strategic vision of Western military science has not developed in the 30 years since the collapse of the USSR. For example, since the Cold War, NATO countries have had established approaches (principles and standards) that must be followed and are supposedly not to be exceeded. At least that's the impression you get when you talk to your European and American colleagues at relevant meetings," Nazarov said.

He explained that analysts in their assessments do not take into account a number of facts specific to Ukrainian realities, including the lack of command and control bodies for the current number of troops, ensuring a sufficient level of training in a short time, and the fact that all weapons are actually on wheels, while NATO troops prepare for their operations for months.

"If we add to this the lack of air superiority, firepower on the battlefield, limited capabilities against UAVs and EW, it becomes clear that under such conditions it is almost impossible or extremely difficult to carry out operational-scale activities," said consultant Zaluzhnyi.

"The approach of Western experts is academic in form, it does not take into account changes in the nature of the armed struggle, the real capabilities and state of the Armed Forces of Ukraine before a full-scale aggression. Therefore, their analysis is not strategic in nature. From a military point of view, it is tactical, with elements of operational," Nazarov added.

He expressed hope that Western analysts would recognise their mistakes and draw conclusions for the future.

Earlier, First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska said that our country wants the war to end as soon as possible, so the world should speed up its support for the Ukrainian people in the war against Russia.

"We constantly hear from our Western partners that they will be with us for as long as it takes. But the word 'long' is not the word we should use. We should use the word 'faster'," the First Lady said.

She emphasised that the aggressor's victory would be the worst case scenario for all of humanity.

As reported by OBOZREVATEL:

- Ukraine provided the Pentagon with the first report on the use of American cluster munitions in the war with Russia. In particular, information was provided on the number of DPICM shells fired and the number of targets destroyed;

- On 9 August, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief's Staff in a special format - with the narrowest circle of key officials. The Head of State and the Armed Forces commanders discussed plans for the Ukrainian army's offensive in the near future.
