"We will never forget our heroes": Zelenskyy honors the memory of fallen Ukrainian defenders in Lviv

During his visit to Lviv, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy paid tribute to the fallen defenders of Ukraine. He laid flowers on the graves of the Heroes buried on the Mars Field of Lychakiv Cemetery and spoke with the families of the fallen soldiers.

On December 15, Zelenskyy posted a video of his visit to the Lychakiv military cemetery on his official Telegram channel. "Lviv. The field of Mars. We will never forget our heroes who fought for freedom and protection for Ukraine! We remember the price of our freedom and independence. Eternal glory to all those who stood up to defend the state!" the publication says.

According to the Office of the President of Ukraine, the head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration Maksym Kozytskyi, as well as the head of the OP Andrii Yermak and his deputies, honored the memory of the fallen soldiers.

Zelenskyy and the leadership of the Presidential Administration laid flowers on the graves of the heroes buried on the Mars Field of the Lychakiv Cemetery - soldiers and sergeants who died in battles with the occupiers in the spring of 2022 and early 2023.

In particular, they honored the memory of such soldiers as Maksym Vasylkevych from Lviv, who fought in the ATO for three years and returned from abroad after the full-scale Russian invasion and fought the enemy as part of the 110th Brigade named after Major General Marko Bezruchko; Oleksii Lon, a native of Rubizhne, Luhansk region, who fought in the 24th Brigade named after King Danylo; Dmytro Sydoruk, an international master of sports in archery, junior sergeant of the 24th Brigade.

Zelenskyy also spoke with the mother of a lieutenant who was the commander of a separate grenade launcher platoon. Pavlo Shcherbyn took part in the liberation of Kherson and later fought in the Bakhmut sector. He died on December 15, 2022.
