Ukrainian Armed Forces destroy Russian military facility near Dzhankoy: satellite photos

The network showed satellite photos of a military facility destroyed by the Ukrainian Armed Forces near Dzhankoy in the temporarily occupied Crimea. It is currently difficult to determine the exact type of equipment destroyed, but it is likely to be an S-400 Triumph anti-aircraft missile system.

Planet Labs published the satellite images on the Schemes Telegram channel. They show the aftermath of a large-scale fire near the railway in Dzhankoy. Ukrainian forces struck the peninsula on the night of June 10.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine commented on the attack, noting that the enemy did not intercept any of the missiles fired by its "highly effective" air defense. The Schemes journalists noted that the quality of the satellite images does not allow them to determine the exact type of damaged equipment, but it is clear that the object appeared here in May 2024, and later fortifications were also built nearby.

Military expert Anatolii Khrapchynskyi suggested that the Russian "Podlyot" radar system could have been located at the site of the arrival. In particular, it is used in conjunction with the S-300 and S-400. At the same time, military expert Mykhailo Zhyrokhov believes that there was no point in deploying the radar in this location, and therefore it could have been another military facility.

The General Staff also noted that the Ukrainian Armed Forces hit two S-300 anti-aircraft missile divisions located near Chornomorske and Yevpatoriya in occupied Crimea. After the strikes by Ukrainian missile launchers in the "cotton" areas, the radar systems immediately stopped working.
