"There must be a comprehensive plan": Zelensky explains how mobilization will be in 2024

During a press conference on December 19, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that the issue of mobilization in 2024 is quite sensitive. According to him, this issue is being discussed at a meeting of the National Security Council, where a comprehensive mobilization plan is to be prepared.

"First, this is still a question for our military. They have asked for mobilization at the meeting of the Chiefs of Staff, it is a sensitive issue. They asked about the defense of our state and potential counteroffensive actions. They proposed to mobilize an additional 450-500 thousand people, which is a very serious figure, and I said that I needed more arguments to support the direction. This is a matter of people, justice, defense capability and finances. I need specifics on what will happen to Ukraine's million-strong army," the president said.

The President also noted that the issue of military rotation and the issue of vacations is equally important.

"What will happen to those guys who are there, we have rotation issues, we have vacation issues. There should be a comprehensive plan. They have started working on this plan. I have not seen any demobilization there yet, although this is the number one issue," Zelensky said.
