"The Russians have started a parade of mistakes": the expert explained what is happening on the front and assessed the chances of the AFU for a new breakthrough

An expert assessed the chances of the AFU for a new breakthrough

The Russian occupation army lost a huge number of reserve troops in an attempt to hold the first line of defense. As a result, the enemy did not achieve the desired success, but lost its strategic resources.

In particular, to contain the Ukrainian Defense Force in Zaporizhzhya, the Russians are forced to transfer reserves from other regions. This was told in an exclusive interview with OBOZREVATEL by military-political expert of the group "Information Resistance" Oleksandr Kovalenko.

According to him, the occupation army made a number of mistakes on the battlefield. Huge resources were spent by the invaders to slow down the advancing forces of the AFU.

"The Russians have long since started a parade of mistakes on the front. They actively burned their second-line reserves, trying to hold the first line of defense, designed only to slow down and exhaust the advancing forces. For whatever reason they were doing this is not entirely clear, but that's their business. Thus, they simply exhausted their strategic resources," Kovalenko said.

The expert emphasized that in the northeastern sector of the village of Novoprokopivka, the units of the 210 Motorized Rifle Regiment, which held the dominant heights there, lost their combat effectiveness. In addition, in the area of Ilchenkovo village, units of the 291 motorized rifle regiment were also withdrawn due to loss of combat effectiveness. It is noteworthy that near this village is the last dominant height in the area, the capture of which gives fire control over enemy logistics.

"Now the resources of the second line of defense can no longer contain the Ukrainian defense forces, so the occupants are forced to transfer their troops to Zaporizhzhya region from other bridgeheads. Predominantly these are airborne troops, which can be quickly moved from one area to another before a breakthrough occurs. But such moves don't seem to help them much. It is already very hard for the Russians to hold the second line. To date, the breakthrough of the Ukrainian Defense Forces in the Zaporizhzhya direction is quite real," - said Kovalenko.

The expert is also confident that after Novoprokopovka, Ilchenkovo, Solodka Balka and Verbovoye are liberated, the Russian occupation forces will very quickly collapse in this direction.

"A wave of goodwill gestures may await us, because the Russians have a third line of defense - rear, without much protection. I think by the end of September we will be able to reach Tokmak, bypass it or enter the city, and already in October direct our efforts to liberate Melitopol," the military expert summarized.

Recall, the Ukrainian Defense Forces have made progress in the counter-offensive on Zaporizhzhya, breaking through the "Surovikin line". We are talking about the enemy's defense line in the south, which the occupiers have been creating for several months, claiming that it is almost impregnable.

Earlier it was reported that the aggressor country Russia deployed elements of the newly created 25th All-Russian Army "reserve" army to allow the units now in the Luhansk region to redeploy to the south of Ukraine. With the additional forces, the occupiers hope to hold back the Ukrainian counter-offensive.

As reported by OBOZREVATEL, Ukrainian servicemen continue to systematically push out the Russian occupiers in the south of the country. Every day the defenders overcome meters of mined fortifications of the enemy, but in the aggregate the successes of the AFU will create big problems for the Russian invaders.
