The strikes on the military airfield in Dzhankoy in the temporarily occupied Crimea were probably a joint operation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Main Directorate of Intelligence. There were two waves of detonations after the attack, and the consequences of the damage caused by the modernized weapons are currently being clarified.

It is preliminarily known that three air defense batteries, several helicopters, a BC warehouse, and other "fat" targets were destroyed at the airport. OBOZ.UA learned about this from its sources.

According to our sources, the strike on the airfield in Dzhankoy was carried out with modernized Soviet weapons. This came as a surprise to the Russian occupiers, so the consequences and scale of the damage, according to preliminary data, were significant.

Sources say that the strike is likely to have destroyed three air defense batteries located on the territory of Dzhankoy airfield. The invaders could also have lost several helicopters, a fuel tanker, an ammunition depot, two radar stations, one electronic warfare station, and a launcher of the Bastion coastal missile system.

Meanwhile, the Crimean Wind Telegram channel noted that an S-400 launcher had previously been installed at one of the points where the fire raged at night.

"At the point marked No. 1 on the map of fires at the military airfield in Dzhankoy, an S-400 launcher was previously spotted, the monitoring group reports. Perhaps it was used as a target," the statement said.

On the night of April 17, explosions were heard in Dzhankoy: locals began to report that a massive fire had broken out near the military airfield. Meanwhile, Russian propagandists began to write that "grass was burning in the field."
