Russian troops attacked Odesa region with missiles

On Wednesday, June 5, Russian occupation forces launched a missile attack on the Odesa region. The tourist infrastructure of a resort village in the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi district came under enemy attack.

This was reported on the official Telegram channel of the Odesa Regional Prosecutor's Office. The explosion in Odesa region occurred at around 17:00.

"The enemy hit tourist infrastructure facilities in Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi district. The inspection is ongoing, the full list of destructions and damages is being established. At the scene, prosecutors in cooperation with the SBU investigator are documenting another war crime of the Russian Federation," the statement said.

The prosecutor's office emphasized that a pre-trial investigation into the violation of the laws and customs of war (part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) has been launched.

The head of the Center for Strategic Communications of the Southern Defense Forces, Dmytro Pletenchuk, said in a comment to Suspilne that the Russian missile strike damaged civilian infrastructure related to recreation. The facility was closed at the time.

According to preliminary reports, no one was killed or injured.

It should be noted that the air alert in the region was announced at 16:57. A few minutes later, the Ukrainian Air Force warned of the threat of ballistic missiles from the temporarily occupied Crimea. Later, it was noted that a high-speed target was moving in the direction of Odesa region. At about 17:00, an explosion was heard in Odesa.
