The new Ukrainian drone missile "Palianytsia" was first used against a Russian military target in the occupied Crimea. It happened in August 2024; the operation was successful.

"Ukrainska Pravda" learned the details with reference to sources. For the first time, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the combat operation of this long-range weapon of domestic production on August 24, our country's Independence Day.

It is not known which object was hit by the drone missile.

"We can say that the drone was used during one of the attacks on the Crimean peninsula in August this year. Unfortunately, we cannot say which object this drone was used against, but we know that it was a complex operation and the target was probably successfully hit by the Palianytsia," journalist Roman Romaniuk said on the Oboroncast program.

To recap: Zelenskyy noted that Palianytsia was created to destroy the enemy's offensive potential. The range of the drone missile is enough to reach up to two dozen Russian airfields.

The drone missile is launched from a ground platform and has a turbojet engine. It is claimed that the cost of this weapon is significantly lower than its Western counterparts. The developers continue to work to scale up production.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov expects the Ukrainian drone missile "Palianytsia" to change the rules of the game in the war. The official did not specify the range of the munition but assured that the Defense Forces would be able to strike where Russia did not expect.
