"Horrific pattern": Brink condemns Russia for repeated missile strikes on rescuers and journalists
Russia must be held accountable for its crimes against Ukrainian civilians. Repeated missile attacks with a short interval between them are aimed at killing first responders and journalists who arrive at the scene.
This was stated by US Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink on Twitter. She called such actions of the occupiers a "horrific pattern".
"Today, Russia attacked Zaporizhzhia, killing three people with missile attacks 40 minutes apart - a horrific pattern that was apparently intended to kill first responders and journalists at the scene," the ambassador said in a statement.
As reported, on Friday, April 5, Russian occupation forces once again attacked Zaporizhzhia, a city near the frontline. The strikes hit a residential area, killing and injuring civilians.
"On April 5, 2024, the Russian Armed Forces fired missiles at the infrastructure of Zaporizhzhia. After the first missile attack and the work of law enforcement, emergency services and media representatives at the scene, the same area was shelled again. According to preliminary data, 4 civilians were killed and more than 20 people were injured. Among the injured are a child, journalists and a police officer," the regional prosecutor's office said.
On the night of Thursday, March 28, the troops of the Russian aggressor country attacked Zaporizhzhia with Shahed kamikaze drones. As a result of the enemy attack, there were victims in the city. He noted that the invaders hit private homes of local civilians with Shahed drones.
