A massive fire broke out in occupied Sevastopol after an air raid alert was announced and a "threat of attacks by ATACMS missiles" was issued. The occupiers claimed that the cause was allegedly "burning grass" in Balaklava.

In particular, at about 2 p.m., local publics wrote about the "ATACMS departure" from the Kulbakino airfield in Mykolaiv, and an hour later published a photo of the fire and a high column of smoke over Sevastopol.

As of 15:18, the "governor" of occupied Sevastopol, Mikhail Rozvozhayev, said that the fire was caused by "careless handling of fire" that resulted in the burning of "dry vegetation."

"Employees of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations are extinguishing a fire in the area of Sapungorska Street in Balaklava district," the occupier wrote in his Telegram channel.

He added that "there are no victims" and the situation is "under the control of emergency services". As of 16:28, Razvozhayev said that the fire had been "completely eliminated" on an area of 1 hectare.

Around 16:30, a fire also broke out in occupied Simferopol on Heroiv Stalingradu Street. According to local media, an abandoned building surrounded by trees allegedly caught fire there, later claiming that "old wheels were burning."

Photos and videos from the scene of the incident show puffs of black smoke.
