AFU set a record for destroying Russian artillery in August: figures announced

In August 2023, Ukrainian soldiers set a new record in the "demilitarization" of the Russian army. The maximum number of enemy artillery systems since the beginning of the full-scale war (700 units) were destroyed in August.

They also almost set a record for destroyed vehicles of the Russian Armed Forces. The losses suffered by the occupants in August were analyzed by the military and political observer of the Information Resistance group Oleksandr Kovalenko.

"In August, an absolute record was set for the number of destroyed Russian artillery. 691! It was difficult to surpass the performance for June and July, but they made it," the expert wrote.

Kovalenko emphasized that the importance of such huge losses lies not only in the fact that the enemy's ability to shell Ukrainian defenders here and now is reduced. They are also important because they exceed the maximum threshold after which the Russian military-industrial complex is no longer able to compensate.

August was not limited to record losses in artillery systems for the occupants. Ukrainian warriors also almost set a record for destroyed vehicles of the Russian Armed Forces.

"The second indicator for the entire period of full-scale war is the destruction of Russian vehicles, 685. The higher number was only in march 2022, when logistics convoys were destroyed in non-stop mode, making 865 units. Something tells me that the focus will shift to armored vehicles and tanks in the fall," Kovalenko wrote.

On average, about 422 units of automotive equipment are destroyed per month.

At the same time, journalist Roman Shraik also drew attention to the fact that 113 units of Russian special vehicles were destroyed in August, while the monthly average was 44 units. This is the third-highest result for the entire time of the full-scale war.

In August, Ukrainian soldiers deprived the Russian army of 243 tanks (average of 235 units per month), 408 armored combat vehicles (average of 453 per month), 36 MLRS (average of 39 per month), 5 helicopters (average of 17 per month), 394 UAVs (average of 233 per month) and 98 missiles (average of 76 per month)

As of the morning of September 1, irrevocable losses of the Russian Federation in manpower reached 263,490 occupants: Ukrainian soldiers eliminated 470 occupants and destroyed 23 tanks and art systems of the enemy on the last day of summer.

It was also reported that 15 units of equipment and 6 ammunition warehouses were destroyed in the Tavriia direction alone, where heavy fighting continues.
