Russia admits AFU's strike on Novocherkassk: what the ship looks like now. Photo

The attack took place around 2:30 a.m. on the night of December 26

The Russian Ministry of Defense acknowledged the defeat of a large landing ship of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, Novocherkassk, which was stationed in the port of Feodosiia. They claim that the occupiers allegedly destroyed "two Ukrainian Su-24s bombers" that were launching "airborne guided missiles," but the Ukrainian Air Force denied this information.

The occupying "head of Crimea" Sergei Aksenov said that the attack allegedly killed one person and wounded two others. Meanwhile, a photo of the Novocherkassk after the attack was posted online.

According to Aksenov, six buildings were damaged, namely "broken windows" were recorded.

"Six people have been evacuated to temporary accommodation centers, the rest of the residents are staying with relatives and friends. The transport infrastructure is operating normally, there are no restrictions on passenger transportation," the collaborator said on his Telegram channel.

At the same time, the Crimean Wind Telegram channel writes that, according to its data, there are dozens of dead and wounded on the Novocherkassk now-submarine.

According to the channel's authors, Aksenov lied about the number of casualties, as did the "governor of Sevastopol" Mikhail Razvozhayev after the destruction of the Minsk battleship and the Rostov-on-Don submarine in the dry dock of Sevmorzavod.

In turn, the spokesman for the Ukrainian Air Force, Yurii Ihnat, said that judging by the power of the explosion and the duration of the detonation, the Novocherkassk had virtually no chance of "surviving." Therefore, the occupiers' statements about the slight "damage" to the ship are most likely an attempt to downplay the losses, and the statement about the alleged two downed Ukrainian Su-24s is a complete lie as well.

Residents of Feodosiia say that the wreckage of the ship flew along the streets near the port. The shock wave smashed windows in many houses.

As a reminder, the Ukrainian Air Force confirmed the defeat of the Novocherkassk ship and said that tactical aviation attacked it with cruise missiles.

The commander of the Ukrainian Air Force, Mykola Oleshchuk, thanked the Ukrainian pilots and everyone involved for their fine work and said that the Novocherkassk was transporting Shahed drones from Iran.
