"Young and stupid": Dynamo's top scorer speaks out about Monzul situation

Vanat apologised to Monzul

Dynamo Kyiv striker Vladyslav Vanat apologised to referee Kateryna Monzul for his remarks after the Premier League match against Ingulets. Then, after the sensational defeat, the White and Blues player criticised the Kharkiv woman and noted that he had never seen women working for them in any of the top competitions, for which he was disqualified for three matches.

In an interview with the SportArena YouTube channel, Dynamo's top scorer last season said that he did not want to humiliate Monzul herself. According to Vanat, he was very upset about the fiasco in the home match with the team from Petrov and succumbed to emotions.

"I'll tell you how it was from the very beginning. It was after the match with Ingulets - I came out on emotion, young, hot, stupid. It's all understandable, I said a lot of things... Immediately afterwards, I went to visit my family and realised that I had said something stupid. I was ashamed of myself even then. I want to apologise for those words. I am not a sexist, I respect and love women. So I have no problem with this. I apologise, of course, and would like to close this topic. There is no point in talking about it anymore," Vladyslav said.

It is worth noting that at the Women's World Cup, Kateryna Monzul became one of the first participants in the innovation in world football.

As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, Vladyslav Vanat said he was surprised by the indifference of Russians after he threw the flags of the aggressor country into the trash at the airport in Yerevan. And Dynamo Kyiv unexpectedly parted ways with the U-20 world champion.
