One of the trainers of WBA Regular lightweight champion Gervonta Tank Davis (29-0, 27 KOs) has spoken derogatorily about Vasyl Lomachenko's (17-2, 11 KOs) chances in a fight against his client. Kenny Ellis is confident that the Ukrainian has nothing to gain in a fight with the undefeated Davis.

When making his prediction for their theoretical fight, Ellis summed it up in 6 words.

"Tank will knock him out in two rounds," Boxingscene quoted the trainer as saying.

On May 20, 2023, Lomachenko will face the WBC, WBA Super, IBF and WBO lightweight championship belts holder Devin Haney (29-0, 15 KOs). Ellis is firmly convinced that Haney's youth, size and overall skills will be too much for Lomachenko.

If, however, the former star of the weight class turns back the clock and wins, then Kenny would like Tank to finally meet him in the ring.

Davis, widely regarded as one of the most devastating punchers in the world, has stopped the vast majority of opponents who have faced him. According to Ellis, his penchant for hurting his opponents and putting them out of their misery relatively quickly will only intensify if Lomachenko tries to work as the number one in the ring.

As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, on March 6, Davis was sentenced to 90 days of house arrest, three years of probation and 200 hours of community service. A few years ago, the boxer caused an accident in Baltimore.
