Kateryna Usyk and Paris Fury became wives of the heavyweight champions

On May 18, in Riyadh, Arabia, Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs) and British Tyson Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs) will hold a long-awaited fight for the title of absolute world heavyweight champion. And their beloved wives Catherine and Paris will be cheering for them in the front rows - the girls who took care of the family and the house, supported them in difficult times and helped their husbands build their successful careers.

OBOZ.UA decided to tell you what the wives of Ukrainian and British boxers have in common, who have become a reliable rear guard for their husbands.

Relationships and marriage. Both Paris and Kateryna met their husbands at a fairly young age. The future Mrs. Fury, who has gypsy roots, met the boxer at the age of 15 at the wedding of mutual friends, and the Crimean woman met Alexander at school. They got married a year apart - Tyson and his chosen one in November 2008, and Usyk and his beloved in September 2009.

It's true that Paris got married two weeks before her 19th birthday, but Catherine just turned 21.

Mothers of many children. Both girls are mothers of many children. Usyk's family has four children - two boys and two girls. And Fury became parents to seven children - four sons and three daughters. Paris has suffered two more miscarriages and after the first one, she couldn't get pregnant for more than four years.

Paris gave birth to her last child in September 2023, and Kateryna became a mother for the fourth time in January 2024.

A reliable shoulder. The girls became a reliable support for their champions while they built their careers, disappearing into gyms and training camps. Together, they went through crises and bouts of starstruckness. Paris almost left Tyson when he became depressed, binged on fast food and drank alcohol and drugs, and tried to commit suicide. But she stuck it out.

Kateryna doesn't talk about the problems in her family, but because of her family's pro-Ukrainian stance, she had to leave her native Crimea after the Russian occupation. Pro-Russian acquaintances threatened to blow up her car, and this was the last straw, after which the family finally moved to Kyiv.

From the shadows to the stars. For many years, both Catherine and Paris Paris devoted themselves to their children, home, and the comfort of their star husbands, but in recent years they have begun to emerge from the shadows of their other half. This is especially true of the British woman.

In recent years, Paris has gone from being a housewife and Tyson's wife to a real British star in her own right, thanks to the documentary series At Home with Fury, which follows the family's life. She is also the author of the bestselling books Love and Fury and How Does She Do It? The Kids, Tyson, and Me". Paris is also a regular guest on the ITV program Loose Women.

As for Kateryna, she rarely gives interviews and does not appear on television shows. However, recently she has been more active on social media and, after the outbreak of a full-scale war with Russia, she has been waging her own information war against the occupiers, publishing very sharp posts on Instagram.

In addition, it is known that at one time Usyk's wife planned to open her own small business in Crimea. Oleksandr himself told us about this before the occupation in 2014: "He wants her to have a car wash, a gas station, a service station. Of course, I will help. It's a great idea. It's out of the box. And this is how she cheers me up."

Spectacular beauties. Despite giving birth to children, taking care of them and the house, Catherine and Paris take care of themselves and do not let their beauty fade.
