"What, jump again? How to run?" Mahuchikh confessed what happened to her after the 2024 Olympics

Olympic champion Yaroslava Mahuchikh had trouble getting motivated before the Diamond League stages after winning the Paris 2024 Games. The 23-year-old high jumper from Dnipro emphasized that she could not get ready for a long time because she was emotionally devastated.

Mahuchikh said this in an interview with the Champion portal. The athlete added that her main motivation for performing now is the opportunity to use her success to tell journalists from the world's media about the war in Ukraine, preventing people from forgetting about it.

"I couldn't get into the mood and thought: "What, jump again? How do I run to this bar?" I was emotionally exhausted. But I adjusted, jumped, got my third Diamond, and finished the season well, as always. My motivation now is that I need to win to remind the whole world about the war. This is my mission as an ambassador of Ukraine. Only thanks to my awards can I do this," Mahuchikh said.

The day before, Yaroslava was named the best athlete of the year in non-running disciplines by the international federation World Athletics.
