Valuev lashes out at the mayor of Paris

The former world heavyweight champion was outraged by the statement of Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo, who opposed the participation of athletes from Russia and Belarus in the 2024 Olympics. The State Duma deputy responded with traditional Russian aggressive and belligerent attacks against Europeans.

In a commentary to Sport24, Valuev found nothing better to do than to recall the war between the Russian Empire and France. The former boxer and Vladimir Putin's regime ally criticized Hidalgo, calling her words inhospitable and threatening another attack on Paris and the killing of French people.

"A very hospitable expression from the French! What can I say to that? I can only congratulate them all on the 210th anniversary of the Russian army's entry into Paris. On March 31, 1814, our troops visited them with the whole Russian soul! There is nothing more to say," Valuev said.

The day before, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova threatened Anne Hidalgo with the words "another such statement...". And Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov commented on the participation of Russian athletes in the 2024 Olympics with the words "spawn of hell".

As reported by OBOZ.UA, the head of the All-Russian Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation Irina Viner called neutral Russian athletes a "team of homeless people." And Seoul-88 champion Mikhail Mamiashvili called the International Olympic Committee (IOC) "a bunch of sectarians, scoundrels, and fraudsters."
